Effectively supporting young people - their health, education, and future prospects - means working from a real understanding and appreciation of the developmental processes at work in their lives. This interactive and fun workshop highlights the tasks of adolescence, brain development and trauma, and positive youth development especially as it relates to their health.

Participants will be challenged to see adolescents and their behaviors through a developmental lens and then apply this information to their own work and lives focusing on assets, resilience, and competencies in all young people. This training is perfect for juvenile justice personnel, education staff, policy makers, parole officers, social services staff, community organizers, and many others. The training was developed for Wyoming youth-serving professionals by the Youth and Young Adult Health Program Manager at the Wyoming Department of Health in partnership with the State Adolescent Health Resource Center, the National Adolescent Health Resource Center, and the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine.
